There are different stages of Isuzu warning lights which is why you will see some in red, some yellow and some green. Our guide below informs you of the actions you need to take depending on the colour that displays.

Red Warning Lights

Airbag Icon

AIRBAG

If this warning light illuminates whilst driving then it could indicate a fault with the air bag and seat belt pretensioners, meaning they may not function in the event of an accident. 

Action

Brake Icon
BRAKE SYSTEM
If this light illuminates when driving it signifies a drop in the level of brake fluid. 
Action 

As soon as it is safe to do so, stop and check the brake fluid level. If the light continues to display, contact our team for further advice.
ABS Icon

ABS WARNING

If the ABS warning light stays on or illuminates whilst you are driving, this indicates that the system has malfunctioned. 

Action 

Pull over as soon as it is safe to do so and stop the engine, then proceed to restart the engine. If the light continues to stay on get in touch with our team as soon as possible. 

TRANSMISSION

If this light illuminates whilst driving, it indicates a fault with the transmission electronic system. In some instances, the vehicle may enter emergency mode where engine power is reduced and as a result, certain gears may not function. 

Action

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID

If this warning light displays when you are driving, it could indicate that the automatic transmission fluid is abnormally hot. 

Action

In this instance, as soon as it is safe to do so, pull over, place the gear in the ‘P’ position and allow the engine to run. If the light continues to display, get in touch with one of our Isuzu experts at Quest Motor Group. 

OIL PRESSURE

If this light illuminates in red when driving, it signifies that the engine oil pressure is not functioning correctly.

Action 

Pull over as soon as it is safe to do so and switch off the engine. Check the engine oil level and add some if necessary. Upon restarting the engine, check and see if the light is no longer illuminated. If it continues to display, get in touch with one of our team at Quest Motor Group.

ENGINE OVERHEATING

If this warning light displays in red, it indicates that the engine is overheating. 

Action

In this instance, it is important to pull over as soon as it is safe to do so and allow the engine to continue to run (switching the engine off or continuing to drive may cause it to seize up). If the light continues to display, give our team a call for further advice. 

BATTERY WARNING

If the battery warning light remains on or illuminates when driving, this indicates a charging system fault.

Yellow Warning Lights

SERVICE VEHICLE SOON

This warning signal indicates a generic fault. 

Action

Specialist diagnostic equipment is required to read these and so it’s important you give our team a call at your earliest convenience. 

FUEL FILTER

This indicates that the fuel filter is clogged and may need cleaning or replacing. ​

Action 

When you reach your destination, give our team at Quest Isuzu a call for further advice.

PARTICULATE DIFFUSER

If this light illuminates, it indicates that the diesel particulate filter requires cleaning. 

Action

To do this, drive at a constant speed of more than 45mph – when certain conditions are met, the light should stop flashing, telling you the cleaning process is taking place, In this instance, you should avoid stopping or slowing down where possible as this can interfere with the cleaning process. The light should go out after this has finished, however, if it continues to stay on, give our team a call for further advice.

ROAD CONDITIONS

This informs the driver that the outside temperature is low and the road conditions may be icy. 

Action

It’s important to take extra caution in these conditions. 

CHECK 4WD

If this light continues to illuminate when you are driving, it indicates that there is a malfunction with the 4WD system.

CHECK ENGINE

If this warning light illuminates whilst you are driving it indicates a problem with the engine electronic control system. 

Action

As soon as it is safe to do so, pull over and stop the engine. Proceed to give our team a call for further advice. 

ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC)

If this light illuminates when driving, it could signify that the battery voltage is low or cables have been disconnected. 

Action

Although it does not affect normal driving, it can disable some safety features. If the light continues to display, get in touch with our team at your earliest convenience. 

TYRE PRESSURE

This warning light indicates that the tyre pressure in one or more tyres is low.

Action
