The game started in blustery wind, so the team that adjusted quicker to the conditions would benefit, the first half was evenly contested with Maldon having the better of the chances with Nathan and Finn controlling the middle but not really anything of any danger, whilst the back line where standing strong.
The second half started how the first half finished with a share of the possession, the first strong attack saw the home team hit the post from long range, only for Maldon to go up the other end with some great footwork from Nathan to put Finn through the middle for the first goal of the game.
Maldon started to see some good territory when Finn shot from distance to take the keeper by surprise and hit the back of the net for his second of the game.
The second half continued to ebb and flow in both directions leading to a good period of play for Hannakins Farm which led to a questionable free kick for the home team from about 20 yards out. Nevertheless the kick was struck with some venom which was well saved with an outstretched arm by Daniel in the Maldon goal.
Maldon took control of the second half with some great attacking moves down both flanks but were unable to add to there haul.
This was a great start to the spring league for Maldon with a great team performance all round with Nathan taking man of the match.
